Successful Projects in 2009 and more underway in 2010

Paper for EIASM Conference

Chairman of AWA

John Dougall is a founding shareholder and has been our inaugural Chairman since the company was acquired. John has now decided to relinquish the role of Chairman, but to remain as a Director and Shareholder of the company while focusing his time/energy on securing major new business opportunities for AWA.
Following on from John's decision, Michael Brogan has agreed to take on the role of Non-Executive Chairman. Michael is also an inaugural Director

DELL CIS
01 November 2009
AWA is now providing Carry in Services (CIS) for Dell nationally. This allows Dell customers to return their products for repair at AWA's offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra. AWA also manages a returns service for Dell customers in regional Australia.

AWA participates in ITLS Post Graduate Program

AWA is participating for the second time in the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) at Sydney University, Post Graduate Experience Program.
In 2008 AWA was one of four companies that participated in a pilot program with ITLS to provide work experience for graduands in ITLS masters or doctoral degree programs in Logistics.
That pilot was a great success. The student assigned to AWA - "Beijing Bob" Yueming Yin - proved to be a great addition to AWA's logistics team and was offered a full time position with AWA at the end of program. The scheme itself has now been expanded and AWA has its second participant joining our Logistics team.
The Managing Director of AWA, Mark Rainbird, is on the ITLS Board of Advice.

ESP – Supporting the Airline Industry Globally

AWA is now providing remedial maintenance and deployment services for ESP, a UK based company. AWA will be supporting ESP’s international customers who have a presence in Australia, primarily in the airline industry.
AWA’s strategic relationship with ESP provides AWA with a “global reach” to support our local customers with requirements outside of Australia and also gives ESP the confidence that it has a local partner that matches their world-wide service standards.

NEC Consumer Products Service

TiVo Repairs

We are pleased to advise that we have finalised an agreement to provide repair services for the TiVo devices that launched recently in Australia. A contract was signed on the 23rd of October with Hybrid Television Services (a subsidiary of Channel 7), and the first repaired product shipped on the 28th of October 2008.

BIG W – Packaged IT and AV Services

Following a trial at the Big W store at Rouse Hill in NSW, AWA is to roll out packaged IT and AV services in Big W stores nationally over the coming months. This is under AWA’s “Telefix” brand and offer purchasers of electronic equipment in Big W additional installation and other services to enhance their product experience.
Mark Rainbird, AWA’s Managing Director noted that “This is another important step in building our presence in the emerging consumer technology support market following our acquisition of Telefix. We are very pleased to also further extend our existing relationship with Big W.”

GE Health Roll Out

AWA has been contracted by GE Health to assemble server racks and for the installation of workstations in various hospitals across four area Health Services in NSW.
AWA’s Managing Director Mark Rainbird noted that “This contract builds on our traditional skills in the networks areas, but is an exciting opportunity to work with a new and very respected partner ”.

EFTPOS Services for the Commonwealth Bank

AWA has recently signed a new contract to provide support for the Commmonwealth Bank’s EFTPOS fleet. It is one of two providers. Services cover logistics and field support.
AWA’s Managing Director Mark Rainbird noted that “This was a new market for us when we first started doing work for the Bank two years. We have “raised the bar” in the terms of service delivery and this led to the renewal of the arrangement which was very pleasing.”
