AWA Managing Director Mark Rainbird has published another book “Managing in the Value Chain Network” Prestige Books (2012) - together with Professor David Walters from Sydney University. This follows on from their earlier text “Strategic Operations Management” Palgrave (2006). This interest in value chains is consistent with AWA’s own strategy of building tailored service solutions for its clients. Cisco Renews Contract with AWA
16th November 2011
AWA has recently renewed for a further 3 years its contract with Cisco to provide maintenance services and also to run the VISE (Virtual Internetworking Support Engineer) team which provides technical and other support to all third party field engineers in the Asia-Pac region. AWA has provided maintenance services to Cisco for over 14 years.

AWA undertakes another national project for Cisco

AWA is currently completing a project for Cisco to replace Cisco ASA firewall power supplies at 332 Centerlink sites across Australia. This is being done before or after normal business hours and includes all Centrelink sites including distant “fly in” indigenous communities in outback Australia and surrounding Islands.

AWA Wins Back HP Consumer Service Contract

AWA is now providing national service for HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario Home Desktop PCs commencing 1st September 2011. As part of this contract, AWA supports over 100,000 HP customers with the majority of services performed Onsite in customers homes. AWA was the long term incumbent for this work until 2007 and won this contract back on the basis of its superior quality in service delivery.

AWA Supports the NSW RTA
25th July 2011
AWA has commenced service in July for the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority under a 3 year contract to support all Motor Registries in the state.
This involves providing field service, logistics and parts management and depot repairs for a broad range of equipment that is critical to providing quality service to RTA customer's at the 231 RTA sites around NSW.
This is an exciting new strategic partnership for AWA and we look forward to contribute to enhancing RTA customer experience during what will be a period of significant change.

Panasonic Transfers Further Work to AWA

Panasonic Australia has made the following announcement to its service network.
“In keeping with best practice Panasonic has transferred many of its product warranty services to long-time supply partner AWA.
AWA will provide services for products such as televisions, DVD/Blu-Ray and home appliances in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Panasonic has worked with AWA for a number of years and they have provide excellent customer service. We’re pleased to leverage this relationship further across a broader product set.
Services in other areas and for other products will be handled by other suppliers. The transfer of warranty services has now begun and will be completed by July 15.
Customers in these metropolitan areas are urged to call 1300 835 334 to arrange warranty services or to find out more about non-warranty services, or 132600 to contact Panasonic’s Customer Care representatives."

TEAC Appoints AWA as its Service Partner

TEAC Australia has appointed AWA Limited as its national service delivery partner.
Earlier this month, AWA undertook this role which includes responsibility for TEAC’s customer call care management, field and workshop warranty repairs together with spare parts sales and management.

AWA renews Brand License to Woolworths / Big W

AWA has renewed the license to Woolworths Limited for the use of the AWA brand on consumer electronics products in Big W. This is a long standing arrangement. Big W have recently re-launched the brand with a new updated logo and packaging. Under a separate arrangement AWA though its Telefix operations also provided end to end service support for these products – from call center, through field and workshop repair to parts management, reverse logistics, returns and remarketing.

This includes a range of services including PC support and the installation of the new T-Hub and T-Box products. “This is a particularly pleasing result” said AWA’s Managing Director “as we first bid for this work two years ago and were unsuccessful, but this shows that perseverance and continual refinement of our model pays off. Greys -On-line work extended to Brisbane

Having successfully provided logistics support to Grays in Perth for 18 months, a similar activity has now been set up in Brisbane. This sees AWA receive end of lease products on Grays behalf, inspect, clean, test, pre-auction and then arrange for the product to be dispatched or collected by the successful bidder. This covers a wide range of IT related products.

AWA participates in ITLS Post Graduate Program

AWA is participating for the second time in the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (ITLS) at Sydney University, Post Graduate Experience Program.
In 2008 AWA was one of four companies that participated in a pilot program with ITLS to provide work experience for graduands in ITLS masters or doctoral degree programs in Logistics.
That pilot was a great success. The student assigned to AWA - "Beijing Bob" Yueming Yin - proved to be a great addition to AWA's logistics team and was offered a full time position with AWA at the end of program. The scheme itself has now been expanded and AWA has its second participant joining our Logistics team.
The Managing Director of AWA, Mark Rainbird, is on the ITLS Board of Advice.

We are pleased to advise that we have finalised an agreement to provide repair services for the TiVo devices that launched recently in Australia. A contract was signed on the 23rd of October with Hybrid Television Services (a subsidiary of Channel 7), and the first repaired product shipped on the 28th of October 2008.
