On the Home page of our website are the winners of our Team Members of the Month.
They are “front page news” because our business is built on our staff.
We have a staff AWArds scheme and you can nominate any staff member for providing good customer service (Nomination Form). They stand to win various prizes but most importantly they receive the recognition they deserve.

Rino De Filippis (VIC Operations)
I organised AWA to do a relocation for Monday the 14th of November (Today), the actual relocation should have been scheduled for yesterday at 2pm but I mixed the dates up, yesterday I received a call from my work colleague advising no one had turned up to site at the requested time, as I was interstate for a funeral, I wasn't going to be able to attend this job myself, I spoke with Rino who on his day off, he went and did the relocation for me. The relocation was supposed to be completed at 2pm yesterday but I had it logged for 2pm today by mistake, Rino was totally fantastic in going to site and doing this job on his day off, Also I should note that the existing premises was being boarded up at 5.30pm yesterday too. I would like you to know that Rino deserves a big 10/10 for his effort in resolving my mistake yesterday and I would sincerely like to thank him.

Shirley Franklin (Logistics)
Shirley has done an outstanding job getting the Flash Logistics account up and running. This was new business for AWA and there were lots of teething issues. She has done a lot of this on her own time and shown the initiative and customer focus that is key to the AWA Service Standards.

Debra Johnston (WMS)
Just a quick email to say a big THANK YOU for employing Debra Johnston in your team. She is bright, cheerful, helpful and always knows exactly what process needs to be followed in your database so that we can get our clients' projectors booked in quickly and with ease. She is a credit to your customer service team, and a credit to AWA.

Aladin Kunic (SA Field)
Our 3M induction unit for automated after hours book returns at the library was out of action after a hard drive failure on the PC. Aladin was out as soon as he received the call out and has been diligently working on the system since, tweaking it to get it back to where it once was. I was really impressed at his can-do attitude and perseverance at getting the unit back up and running. Even when I had concerns about a warning which was coming up after it was operational, Aladin returned to ensure that there was 0% chance it would break down as a result of the warning. Your dedication to excellent customer service should be commended Aladin. Well done!.

Michael Hibberd (QLD Field)
I am writing to thank you for providing such exceptional service to me me last week in respect of the repair to my computer.
My experience with your firm was totally positive beginning with a call from Freda from your office who advised me that parts had been ordered and who again called and organised a time for the technician Michael Hibberd to come to my residence. When Michael arrived at my home last Friday, nothing was too much trouble for him. He took the computer back to workshop and phoned me at my home to keep me updated; and he returned my computer to my home the same day repaired. Since then my computer has been running well.It is very apparent that you employ quality staff and that you have a focus on high level customer service.

Michelle Holcroft (SA BCC)
I am writing to thank you so much for your excellent customer service in dealing with our Dell laptop warranty job last week. We live in the country, a 6 hour round trip away from Adelaide and you are our nearest Dell service centre. When I explained to you on the phone that we were travelling to Adelaide in a few days time, you very kindly arranged for our laptop repair to be done overnight so we could drop it in and pick it up within our two day whirlwind visit to Adelaide. I cannot thank you enough for this speedy response as the laptop is an essential part of our son’s homeschooling and we were not looking forward to the prospect of him being without it for any length of time. We are thrilled with the replaced keyboard, so kudos and thanks to your Dell technician as well. In addition your friendly and helpful nature with everything (including brilliant instructions on how to find your office!) made the whole experience very refreshing and just added to the top notch customer service you provided. Thank you so very much!!

Peter Pascuzzo (NSW Warehouse)
I would like to nominate Peter Pascuzzo as employee of the month. In early September the shrink wrap machine, which is an esssential piece of equipment of daily operation at AWA Homebush West warehouse broke down. Instead of waiting 5-7 days for supplier providing a quote, Peter standed out. He did not only find another quality supplier, but also drove to the factory spending $46.20 to get the part himself to repair the machine, which was a job quoted over $400 ($200 call out fee+$120 labour per hour+parts) by the original supplier later. It is Peter's proactive involvement that maintains warehouse operation and more importantly saves the company money. Well done Peter

Shirley Franklin (NSW Logistics)
Shirley had impressed both me and my colleague Benny not only to execute what we asked for, but also to “trouble shoot” to alert us for whatever challenges ground operation is facing. “Help us help you!” is the mindset needed from both end and she is one of those who delivers quality communication to us. That gives us chances to proactively fix the problem before it actually becomes a trouble to our customers and we thank her for it very much.

Janice Dupavillion (NSW)
"I just wanted to send a quick email to reiterate how pleasant and professional I found your receptionist Janice to be this afternoon. It's obviously late in the day, she answered the phone in a bright and very professional manner and even in the few seconds I spoke to her, seemed to have pride in her work and the company. Very refreshing- it made me think AWA must be a nice place to work. As you can imagine after 20 years in recruitment I have spoken to an amazing number of receptionist and she is a stand out."

Debra Johnston (NSW)
"I wanted to pass on how appreciative I am of the work Debra Johnston has done for us. Deb really does go above and beyond in terms of the work required from her and if ever I have any problems if she cannot directly help me (Which she almost always can) she forwards me on to the appropriate person - unlike with previous staff members I have dealt with staff that continuously transfer me in the hopes of getting me through to the right area. I appreciate that Deb takes the time to learn all areas of AWA, not just her own section as it makes things a lot quicker and clearer for us here in Tasmania. Deb always looks at the notes on AWAre before calling us to make sure she has all of the information required. Her nature has been friendly, professional and sincere and I look forward to maintaining this relationship. Deb is a credit to AWA and I hope you will pass on my sincere appreciation."

"I'm pleased to announce the successful golive of Westmead Hospital as part of the Sydney West Area RIS/PACS Project at 06:00am on Tuesday 29th March. The Go Live went extremely well and the customer is very happy with the system. There was an extremely large team working on this project, all of who played a part in making this Go Live a success, but special thanks are due to Joe Brigandi from AWA for great workstation installations"

Fred Daher, Mustafa Assaf and Wayne Schruetrumpf (NSW Operations)
"I would just like to thank you for attending to my request to attend CBA 48 Martin Place at such late notice this week. Whilst the urgency to get this work done immediately, you had little time to assemble a crew for Monday night and Tuesday. The AWA Techs had little information to run with but they knew what to do and performed the task to exceed expectations."

Jon Lock (WA Operations)
"I would like to recognise the outstanding effort of Jon Lock from WA during a recent Kodak rollout. Despite being across the other side of the country, Jon provided excellent support to our Qld agents on a product line that most of them had not seen before. I received several positive unsolicited comments from our agents regarding the way in which Jon was able to assist them."

Nat Zappia (NSW Operations)
This years winner is Nat Zappia from NSW. A typical comment was the one below (from someone who will remain anonymous) "The change in Nat's dedication, work ethic, customer relationship skills, communications and even how he deals with people internally is amazing. 4-5 years ago I would have tried to move him out of the company! He has taken on a level of responsibility for delivery and "end customer"; satisfaction that should be cloned. He cares about the customer and that is reflected in the comments we receive from them. He has been involved in the successful Telstra IPTel deployments as someone who is both "hands-on" and more than capable of managing large teams. He would be a worthy winner"
